Farmers Pushed Off Their Land By Investors

A recent New York Times article describes how African farmers are being pushed off their land by global investors.

Really? This looks eerily like the 18th Century European land grab of Native Americans’ land, that is often described as the “settling of this continent” or the “settling of the American West.” How many of these “investors” are linked to American or U.S. companies or interests?

And more and more it looks like the land grab of big banks in the U.S. today with their fraudulent foreclosures of American homeowners.

Is this a world we want to live in, where anyone can take anything whenever they want — if they are big enough and powerful enough?
